Reaching out to Wollongong

Dress for Work and APM Employment Services Wollongong have successfully hosted our second Employment Program event in the Illawarra region. The program day taught participants the importance of goal setting, developing interview skills, networking, body language and creating a great first impression.

In all there was seven participants, who not only were outfitted in suits for their careers ahead, but were given personalized coaching. Says program attendee Robert (pictured above left ), “Hearing the stories of others, I feel we needed today to understand that we are all facing our own journeys but slowly we can all right our wrongs or grow into the jobs we aim for”.

A big takeaway from the program day is that participants were motivated to change the direction of their lives but needed guidance on where, and how, to make that first step. APM and Dress for Work are taking our own steps to make sure we can help as many young and disadvantaged men as possible.
